India's Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited (KFIL) has officially begun iron ore production at its Bharat mines, as announced on December 18. The commencement follows the necessary approvals from Karnataka's Department of Forests. KFIL was declared the preferred bidder for the mines in an e-auction held in September 2018 and has secured a 50-year mining lease agreement with the Karnataka government. This development marks a significant step for KFIL in enhancing its operational capacity and contributing to the iron ore supply chain.
