Kazakhstan's steel production increased by 14.6% year-on-year in September 2024, reaching 362.6 thousand tons, and rose by 5.7% compared to August. In the first nine months of the year, total production amounted to 3.15 million tons, reflecting a 10% annual growth. Flat products production also saw an increase, rising by 13.2% month-on-month and 1% year-on-year to 222.8 thousand tons. Qarmet, formerly ArcelorMittal Temirtau, reported a 14% increase in steel output for January-September 2024 and plans to boost production to 3.5 million tons this year.
