In November 2024, Kazakhstan's steel production decreased by 6.4% month-on-month, totaling 322,000 tons, according to the Statistical Committee of the Ministry of Economy. However, this figure represents a 4.2% increase compared to November 2023. Flat products production also fell, reaching 205,000 tons, down 3.8% from October and 17.7% year-on-year. Year-to-date production for January-November 2024 rose by 10% to 3.8 million tons, with flat products output increasing by 18.6%. Kazakhstan's Qarmet steel plant aims to boost production to 3.5 million tons in 2024, supported by a $3 billion investment plan for modernization and environmental protection.
