Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet shipments surged by 25.9% in September compared to August, totaling 703,838 metric tons, though this reflects a 10.6% decrease from the same month last year. Of these shipments, 68.2% were for the domestic market and 31.8% for exports. Additionally, production of hot rolled plates and sheets rose by 3.6% month-on-month but fell 9.6% year-on-year to 658,819 metric tons. Conversely, hot rolled strip shipments decreased by 0.9% from August to 1.24 million metric tons, with a significant 80.2% going to export markets.
