In November 2024, Italy’s steel production decreased by 7.9% compared to the previous month, reaching 1.8 million tons. This figure also represents a 4.4% decline compared to November 2023. The reduction is attributed to lower demand and high energy costs.
Production of long products remained stable at 1.1 million tons, while flat products output fell by 12.2% year-on-year to 747,000 tons. For the first eleven months of 2024, total steel production in Italy was down by 4.7% year-on-year, totaling 18.8 million tons.
