Italian rebar producers have been urging buyers to finalize their deliveries by the end of October, anticipating price hikes for November. Industry sources indicate that prices are expected to rise by €30-40 per tonne. As of late October, steelmakers were quoting prices between €270-285 per tonne base ex-works.
The new prices for November are projected to range from €300-310 per tonne base ex-works. Despite the upcoming increases, recent transactions have remained stable, with domestic market prices around €270-280 per tonne base ex-works. Some producers are also implementing temporary production halts and layoffs, while Egyptian rebar is being offered in Sicily at competitive prices.
