Italian rebar producers are once again pushing for price increases. Industry sources report that mills are encouraging buyers to finalize their deliveries by the end of October in anticipation of new price hikes for November orders. The expected increase is around €30-40 per tonne over current prices.
As of the latest updates, steelmakers were quoting prices between €270-285 per tonne base ex-works, with new prices projected to range from €300-310 per tonne base ex-works in November. This move comes amid slow customer activity and ongoing production halts at several mills. Additionally, Egyptian rebar is being offered in Sicily at competitive rates, adding to the market dynamics.
