In June, Italian crude steel production reached 1.852 million metric tons, reflecting a 3.0 percent decline compared to the same month last year. According to Federacciai, the Italian federation of steel companies, the first half of the year saw a total production of 10.844 million metric tons, marking a 5.2 percent decrease year-on-year. The production of long products increased by 5.6 percent to 1.1 million metric tons, while flat product output continued to decline, dropping by 11.2 percent to 769,000 metric tons.
