Meanwhile, Southeast Asian suppliers have raised their offers by $3-5 per tonne, driven by renewed optimism following recent tariff-related developments between China and the US.
Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO), Iran’s sole blast furnace-route steelmaker, finalized an export tender for a 30,000-tonne billet parcel for July loading at $427 per tonne FOB for high-manganese billet. Chadormalu closed its tender after receiving a top bid of $415 per tonne for 150mm 3sp billets and is negotiating with the leading bidder to raise the final price to $420 per tonne or higher.
Separately, SKS concluded a billet export tender initially announced at $418 per tonne FOB, though market sources indicate the final transaction price was closer to $410 per tonne FOB for standard billet.
A recent deal for 20,000 tonnes of 150mm 3sp billet was finalized at $410 per tonne FOB by a mill’s trading arm, equivalent to $435 per tonne CFR at the Gulf of Oman port.
