South Korean steelmakers Hyundai Steel and SeAH Steel have partnered to produce carbon-reduced steel plates and tubular structures for offshore wind power projects, responding to the increasing demand for sustainable products in the sector.
Hyundai Steel has developed 355MPa yield strength steel plates, which SeAH Steel then processes into pipes. This collaboration utilizes a composite production method that reduces carbon emissions by 12% compared to 2021 levels, aligning with global efforts toward carbon neutrality in manufacturing.
