The European hot-rolled coil market has remained flat following the Easter holiday, with trading activity subdued. In Northern Europe, mills are offering HRC for June-July delivery at €670-700 per tonne ex-works, but buyers estimate the tradable value at €640-660 per tonne ex-works.
In Southern Europe, offers are around €640-650 per tonne delivered, with achievable prices estimated at €620-630 per tonne ex-works. Some mills have offered discounts for larger tonnages, with bids heard at €610-620 per tonne delivered.
Market participants are cautious, awaiting clearer direction from the Made in Steel trade fair in May. Limited import availability and reliance on domestic supplies are also influencing the market.
