After 15 months of construction, German steel distributor Heine+Beisswenger has commenced operations at its new logistics centre. The company invested €7 million ($7.7 million) in the facility, located in Trossingen in the Black Forest, southwestern Germany. The centre features a high-bay warehouse measuring 44 meters in length, 23 meters in width, and 22 meters in height, with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes.
It includes several processing facilities to serve customers in various industries, including automotive, agriculture, mechanical engineering, and medical technology. Heine+Beisswenger, which handles long products and specializes in special bar qualities, has an annual throughput of 250,000 tonnes.
The company is headquartered in Fellbach and operates seven additional sites, primarily in southern Germany, with plans to open a new location near Bremen in northern Germany.
