Germany imported 630.91 thousand tons of steel from non-EU countries between January and October 2024. This marks a 5.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2023. The majority of these imports were long steel products, totaling 497.54 thousand tons. Flat steel imports amounted to 133.37 thousand tons. The decline in imports reflects changes in the global steel market and Germany’s strategic adjustments to its supply chain.
