German scrap prices have continued to decline in November due to low domestic demand and limited exports. Market participants report that prices have decreased by around €5-10 per tonne across various grades. The approach of the Christmas holiday season and reduced demand from steel mills have contributed to weaker trading activity.
Despite the decline in prices, exports remain stable, although volumes are low. The German steel recyclers federation, BDSV, has expressed pessimism about the coming year, citing a lack of investment momentum and ongoing industry challenges.
