France’s steel trade value decreased in the first two months of 2025, with imports totaling €1.54 billion, down 12.4 percent year-on-year. The decline was driven by lower purchases of steel pipes, cold-rolled bars, and metal structures.
Exports also fell, reaching €1.62 billion, a 3.8 percent drop compared to the same period in 2024. While most steel product categories saw reductions, metal structures and parts recorded a slight increase.
