In March 2025, French steelmakers achieved a 10.4 percent year-on-year increase in steel production, reaching a total of 921,000 tons. This growth has elevated France to the 18th position in the global steel production rankings, as reported by the WorldSteel Association.
The production volumes also saw a 0.7 percent month-on-month increase compared to February 2025. For the first quarter of 2025, total crude steel output in France amounted to 2.59 million tons, marking a 2.1 percent rise from the same period in 2024.
This positive trend underscores the resilience of the French steel industry and its ability to adapt to evolving market conditions.
