Feralpi Stahl has inaugurated its new rolling mill in Riesa, Germany, marking a major step in sustainable steel production. The facility, equipped with a zero-emission induction furnace system, enables continuous rolling by billet welding, eliminating direct CO₂ emissions.
The €220 million investment is the largest in the company’s history in Germany and is expected to create 100 new industrial jobs. The plant will also introduce an innovative spooler rolling process, allowing the production of hot-rolled steel coils weighing up to eight tonnes.
