Ezz Steel has emerged as the largest steel producer in the Arab world and Africa, achieving a record production of 6.4 million tons of crude steel in 2024. According to the latest report from the World Steel Association, this milestone surpasses Saudi Arabia’s Hadeed, which produced 5.4 million tons, and South Africa’s ArcelorMittal, which reached 2.6 million tons.
Ezz Steel’s growth has propelled the company to the 62nd position globally among 760 steel firms, placing it in the top 10% of steel producers worldwide. The company has outperformed several leading global steel manufacturers, including Japan’s Kobe Steel, Spain’s Celsa, and Russia’s TMK. It has also surpassed major players in Turkey, Ukraine, and Brazil, reinforcing its growing international presence.
With a total production capacity of approximately 7 million tons annually, Ezz Steel distributes 4.7 million tons for rebar and 2.3 million tons for hot-rolled flat products through integrated production operations.
Additionally, Engineer Ahmed Ezz, Chairman of Ezz Steel, has been elected Chairman of the Arab Iron and Steel Union for the 2025–2029 term, following elections held in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
