In October 2024, the European Union produced 11.3 million tons of crude steel, marking a 5.5% increase compared to the same month last year. Over the first ten months of 2024, total crude steel production in the EU reached 109.3 million tons, a 2.1% rise from the previous year.
Other European countries produced 3.4 million tons in October 2024, a 6.2% decrease compared to October last year. However, their total production for the January-October period was 36.5 million tons, reflecting a 6.3% increase from the previous year.
Germany, the largest economy in Europe, produced 3.2 million tons of crude steel in October, a significant 14.7% increase compared to the same month last year. For the January-October period, Germany’s production totaled 31.6 million tons, up by 5% from the previous year.
