Prices for European hot-rolled coil (HRC) remained largely stable on December 16, despite sluggish trading conditions. Industry sources noted a slight increase in trading activity, attributed to expected longer lead times from some suppliers.
Northern European mills aimed for €600 per tonne ex-works for HRC with delivery in the first quarter of 2025, although some deals were made at €560 per tonne ex-works. In Southern Europe, HRC prices were also stable, with offers ranging from €570 to €610 per tonne ex-works. The market remains cautious, with buyers estimating workable levels at €550-570 per tonne ex-works.
