European hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices remained stable on October 21, with trading activity subdued. Northern European consumers largely refrained from purchasing finished steel, awaiting clearer price trends following the EuroBLECH international sheet metal exhibition in Hanover.
Despite ArcelorMittal’s recent €40 per tonne price increase, offers ranged from €580 to €590 per tonne ex-works, with some deals reported at €530 to €550 per tonne. In Southern Europe, HRC prices also held steady, with the Italian market seeing offers around €551.25 per tonne. Import offers remained uncompetitive, leading most consumers to prefer domestic purchases.
