Hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices in Europe have remained largely flat, despite a generally optimistic outlook from producers. As of late September, suppliers across Europe have reduced their HRC offer prices, but this has not significantly boosted buying activity. One integrated producer in Northern Europe cut its offer price to €570 per tonne ex-works, down from €600 per tonne at the beginning of September.
The market continues to face challenges from weak demand and sufficient stock levels at distributors. Competitive imports have also exerted pressure on prices. Despite these factors, producers remain hopeful that market conditions will improve in the coming months, driven by potential increases in demand and adjustments in production levels.
