European hot-rolled coil prices stayed largely unchanged after recent public holidays, with market sentiment remaining weak due to insufficient demand. Offers for July-delivery HRC from integrated mills in Northern Europe were heard at €640-650 per tonne ex-works or delivered, while buyers estimated tradable values at €600-630 per tonne ex-works.
In Italy, domestic HRC prices were calculated at €598.75 per tonne, unchanged from the previous session. Buyers remain cautious, anticipating further price declines, while negotiations for long-term contracts with end users have stalled due to mismatched expectations.
Import offers from Indonesia, Turkey, and India continue to provide competitive alternatives, though safeguard-related risks and CBAM concerns are limiting buyer interest.
