European hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices continued to decline as of September 30, 2024, driven by sluggish demand and ongoing destocking. The daily steel HRC index for Northern Europe was calculated at €541.67 per tonne, reflecting a decrease from previous levels.
Market participants noted that demand from key steel-consuming sectors remained weak, and official offers were limited. The automotive industry’s struggles and the anticipation of changes in the market following China’s Golden Week holiday were also highlighted as factors influencing the current pricing trends.
