The European hot-rolled coil market remains under pressure due to insufficient demand, with mills struggling to sustain current price levels.
In Northern Europe, transactions for HRC have been reported at no higher than €655 per tonne ex-works for June-July delivery, while offers remain at €680 per tonne ex-works. Buyers anticipate further price declines as seasonal consumption dips.
Southern Europe has also seen subdued trading, with Italian HRC prices calculated at €615 per tonne ex-works. Offers range between €620-640 per tonne ex-works, but tradeable values are closer to €610-630 per tonne ex-works.
Meanwhile, overseas coil demand has picked up, with Turkish HRC booked to Italy at €540 per tonne CFR, and Indonesian offers at €520-530 per tonne CFR. Malaysian HRC has been offered at €500 per tonne CFR.
