European countries have collectively granted €14.6 billion to support the decarbonization of the steel sector. This funding, which has increased by €4 billion over the past six months, aims to help steel producers transition to more sustainable practices.
The grants are part of broader efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and align with the European Green Deal and REPowerEU Plan. These initiatives are crucial for reducing the carbon footprint of the steel industry and promoting the use of renewable energy sources.
