The European Commission has unveiled the Clean Industrial Deal, a comprehensive plan aimed at reducing emissions and supporting polluting sectors like steel and cement. The initiative includes measures to accelerate the green transition, such as faster permits for wind farms and new rules encouraging European-made clean technology.
The plan also introduces an Industrial Decarbonisation Bank with €100 billion in public funds to leverage private investment. Despite concerns about the costs of green policies, the Commission remains committed to its climate goals, aiming to reduce emissions by 90% by 2040.
