In the week ending August 7, Northwest European prices for rebar and medium sections remained stable despite a recovery in demand. Market activity is gradually picking up as people return from holidays, according to industry sources.
Some mills are attempting to increase prices due to high production costs and low profit margins. The price of Northwest European rebar was assessed at EUR 615 per metric ton ex-works, while European medium sections were priced at EUR 750 per metric ton delivered Benelux.
