EMSTEEL Group, the UAE's largest publicly listed steel and building materials company, has partnered with Tadweer Group, Abu Dhabi's leader in waste management and recycling, to explore the use of alternative fuels and raw materials for sustainable building materials. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focuses on utilizing Tadweer’s production of Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) and Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) in EMSTEEL's facilities, including the Al Ain Cement Plant and Emirates Block Factory.
The collaboration aims to promote sustainable building practices by reducing landfill waste, lowering CO2 emissions, and advancing green material manufacturing. Both companies emphasize their commitment to decarbonization and the circular economy, aligning with the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy. The partnership includes feasibility studies and opportunities for knowledge exchange, reinforcing their leadership in sustainable construction practices in the region.
