Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of cold-rolled and coated steel products from Turkey and China. The investigation follows a petition from local producers Al-Obour Metal Industries Company and Kama Metal Coating and Processing Company, who allege that these imports are being sold at unfairly low prices, causing material injury to the domestic industry.
The products under investigation include cold-rolled coil (CRC), hot-dip galvanized (HDG), and pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI). The authorities have found sufficient evidence to proceed with the investigation, which aims to determine whether these imports are being dumped and, if so, to what extent they are harming the local market.
