In January, the consumption of steel products in Ukraine rose to 297 thousand tons, marking a significant increase compared to the same period last year. This growth is attributed to a combination of factors, including increased domestic demand and a reduction in imports.
The share of imported steel products in the domestic market decreased, highlighting a shift towards locally produced steel. This trend reflects the resilience of the Ukrainian steel industry despite ongoing challenges in the global market. The main markets for Ukrainian steel products continue to be the EU, other European countries, and Africa.
