Concerns are rising among Indian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) regarding potential steel import restrictions. The Engineering Exports Promotion Council (EEPC) India has warned that such restrictions may adversely affect these smaller businesses, which rely on affordable steel imports for their operations. While domestic steel producers advocate for import limits to protect their market share, MSMEs fear that increased prices could hinder their competitiveness. The EEPC emphasizes the need for a balanced approach that safeguards both domestic industries and the interests of smaller enterprises in the steel supply chain.
