According to GMK, Chinese steel production rose by 6.2% month-on-month in October 2024, reaching 81.88 million tons, marking a recovery after four months of decline. This increase was driven by improved demand and market sentiment, fueled by recent economic stimulus from Beijing. Average daily production was approximately 2.64 million tons, up from 2.57 million tons in September and 2.55 million tons in October 2023. However, for the year-to-date period from January to October, production decreased by 3% year-on-year, totaling 850.73 million tons. Despite the October rebound, a decline in production is anticipated for November due to seasonal factors.
