The Taiwanese scrap market has shown signs of weakening this week, with local mills opting to maintain their purchasing prices stable to ensure a consistent supply. According to Kallanish Commodities. Feng Hsin Iron & Steel, a major steel mill in Taiwan, has decided to keep its scrap purchasing prices unchanged while reducing rebar sales prices by TWD 200/tonne ($6.26). Specifically, the HMS 1 scrap purchase price stands at TWD 10,700/t ($335/t), and the list price for  $5 rebar is TWD 19,200/t ($601) ex-works. This move comes as a response to the discrepancy between stable raw material costs and declining finished steel values, which has intensified cost pressures on the mill.
