Yukun Iron and Steel, operating with Danieli QSP-DUE technology, has achieved remarkable breakthroughs in hot-rolled strip production, ranging from 0.8 to 25 mm in thickness. The plant, utilizing three production modes—endless, semi-endless, and coil-to-coil—has set casting records with its patented DySen caster, regularly producing 145-mm-thick slabs and testing 165-mm-thick slab rolling.
Endless rolling production reached a minimum design thickness of 0.8 mm within the first seven campaigns, delivering coils with exceptional surface quality, precise dimensions, and uniform properties. The same line has also successfully produced 25-mm-thick strips, a unique achievement worldwide.
Supported by advanced Danieli Automation process controls, the QSP-DUE plant boasts a production capacity exceeding 4.5 million tons per year of hot-rolled strip—the highest globally for a direct casting-rolling facility. Designed to produce a range of steel grades, the plant integrates over 50 Danieli patents, solidifying its position as a leader in the industry.
