Artrom Steel Tubes has successfully modernized its rotary hearth furnace at the Slatina pipe mill in Romania. This upgrade, part of the company’s ongoing sustainability efforts, aims to significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions. The new furnace technology, developed in collaboration with SMS group, features advanced burners that lower natural gas and CO2 emissions by 45%.
This modernization not only enhances environmental compliance but also reduces operating costs, positioning Artrom as a more competitive player in the seamless steel pipe market. The project was completed with the successful restart of the plant in September 2024.
