ArcelorMittal reported a production of 29.1 million tons of steel in the first half of the year, marking a slight decrease of 0.3% compared to the same period last year. The company’s iron ore production also saw a decline, dropping by 7.5% to 19.7 million tons.
Despite these decreases, ArcelorMittal remains optimistic about the medium to long-term demand for steel. The company faced challenges, including an illegal blockade by the Mining Union in Mexico, which significantly impacted its North American operations. However, ArcelorMittal continues to focus on maintaining its market position and addressing current market conditions.
