ArcelorMittal has raised its offer prices for hot-rolled coil (HRC) across Europe by approximately €30 per tonne. The new prices, effective for February-March deliveries, are set at €630 per tonne ex-works or delivered in Northern Europe. This increase follows a recent offer of €600 per tonne in November-December.
The price hike comes amid a slight uptick in orders due to restocking and the European Commission’s announcement of a safeguards review. Despite the increase, market conditions remain challenging, with weak end-user demand and ongoing negotiations for long-term contracts, particularly in the automotive sector. Some contracts for the first half of 2025 have been closed at discounted rates compared to the second half of 2024.
