Arabian Gulf Steel Industries LLC (AGSI), a leading sustainable steel manufacturer based in Abu Dhabi, has announced that it has achieved climate neutrality (net zero emissions) at its steel plant in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
This significant milestone reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing environmental responsibility and advancing sustainable manufacturing practices.AGSI's efforts align with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, focusing on innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies in industrial systems.
The initiative supports the strategic goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050, as well as objectives related to the circular economy and green industries.As the largest steel recycling company in the UAE, AGSI operates a facility that produces 600,000 metric tons of steel bars annually, sourcing 100% of its steel scrap locally.
The company is dedicated to investing in carbon reduction technologies and continuously seeks to align its emission reduction goals with national directives and initiatives led by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.

In 2023, AGSI received the Greenhouse Gas Verification Statement from DNV, a leading global auditing company, confirming its capability to meet climate neutrality targets. Additionally, AGSI became the first steel producer to achieve carbon neutrality in compliance with the international standard PAS2060:2014, certified by DNV.
