AMNS India, a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, is actively exploring acquisition opportunities to expand its operations in the Indian steel market. The company is particularly interested in deals that align with its growth strategy and offer logistical advantages. While negotiations for the acquisition of Vedanta Resources' ESL plant have stalled, AMNS India remains open to other viable opportunities.
The company aims to increase its capacity to 15 million tonnes per year and capture a larger share of the Indian flats market. Additionally, AMNS India has recently launched a new patented color-coated steel product, "Optigal," to capitalize on the growing demand for value-added steel products in the country.
