According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US domestic raw steel production for the week ending November 30, 2024, reached 1.638 million net tons, reflecting a 1.0 percent decrease from the previous week's production of 1.655 million net tons. The capacity utilization rate for the current week was reported at 73.8 percent, down from 74.5 percent the week before.
In comparison to the same week last year, when production was 1.687 million net tons and capacity utilization was at 73.4 percent, this week's output represents a 2.9 percent decline year-on-year. Year-to-date production through November 30, 2024, totaled 80.517 million net tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 75.8 percent, marking a decrease of 2.3 percent from the same period in the previous year when production was 82.422 million net tons and utilization was at 76.1 percent.
