MENA's direct reduced iron (DRI) production saw a month-on-month increase in October, with six reporting countries, excluding Qatar, contributing to a total output of 6.7 million tonnes. This marks a 31.4% rise from September and a 31.3% increase year-on-year. Over the first ten months of 2024, production reached 47.83 million tonnes, reflecting a 6.9% annual growth that outpaced global DRI production. Iran led the regional surge with a 43.2% month-on-month increase, while Saudi Arabia and Egypt also reported positive figures despite some declines in annual output for Libya and the UAE.
