Swiss Steel Group has announced plans to cut 800 jobs due to weak demand in European manufacturing and low production levels. The company aims to optimize its operations and ensure the long-term security of its production sites in Switzerland, Germany, and France.
In Switzerland, 130 jobs at the EmmenbrĂĽcke plant will be affected, with around 80 employees facing layoffs. The workforce reduction is expected to bring the total number of employees to below 7,000 by the first half of 2025.
