The European Commission has begun registering hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports from Egypt, India, Japan, and Vietnam. This move sets the stage for potential retroactive anti-dumping duties. The registration follows an anti-dumping investigation launched in August 2024.
The measure aims to address unfair trade practices and protect the EU steel industry from underpriced imports. The registration period will last for nine months, during which the Commission will monitor import volumes and prices closely.
