South Korea's Trade Commission has officially launched an anti-dumping investigation into stainless steel plates that are 600 mm wide or more and 4.75 mm thick or greater, imported from China. This action follows a complaint from local manufacturer DKC Co., Ltd., which alleges that these imports have caused substantial harm to the domestic industry.
The investigation will examine the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, and will also assess data from January 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, to evaluate the extent of the injury. A preliminary decision is anticipated within three months.
The products under scrutiny are classified under several Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Korea (HSK) codes, including 7219.21.1010 and 7219.22.9000. This investigation highlights South Korea's ongoing efforts to protect its domestic steel industry from perceived unfair trade practices.
