Germany's steel production rose by 6.3% year-on-year in July 2024, reaching 3.14 million tons. However, compared to the previous month, production decreased by 1.3%. The increase was driven by a 4% year-on-year rise in converter steel production, while electric arc furnace output fell by 22.2%.
Pig iron production also saw a 2.4% year-on-year increase. Despite the monthly decline, the overall year-on-year growth reflects a positive trend for the German steel industry.
