Hydnum Steel, Spain's first green steel plant, and Euroports, a leading European port and logistics operator, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the steel supply chain across Europe. This collaboration aims to design and implement an efficient and sustainable logistics network for the transportation, storage, and distribution of steel coils produced at Hydnum Steel's Puertollano plant.
The agreement focuses on optimizing the supply chain by reducing time and costs in the transportation and handling of steel products. It also emphasizes sustainability, promoting the use of multimodal transportation and clean technologies to minimize the carbon footprint. Additionally, the partnership will ensure operational efficiency by coordinating production and distribution for faster and more reliable delivery to European markets.
Hydnum Steel and Euroports will also work on logistics solutions for key steelmaking raw materials, such as ferrous scrap and iron ore, to support the production of green steel. This initiative is expected to enhance Hydnum Steel's competitiveness and expand its market reach in Europe.
