The European hot-rolled coil market remained stable on June 9, with Northern Europe largely inactive due to national holidays. Market participants in Southern Europe reported continued weak demand, with increased competition among mills further suppressing prices.
Domestic HRC in Northwest Europe was assessed at €600 per tonne ex-works Ruhr, while Southern Europe saw prices at €585 per tonne ex-works Italy. Imported HRC prices remained unchanged, with Northwest Europe at €520 per tonne CIF Antwerp and Southern Europe at €510 per tonne CIF Italy.
Traders note that mills are adjusting prices to secure orders, but buyers remain cautious, opting to delay purchases amid ongoing uncertainty.
