Egypt's imports of iron ores and concentrates rose by 1.9% in 2024, reaching $1.658 billion, up from $1.627 billion in 2023. These imports accounted for 1.7% of Egypt's total imports, which were valued at $94.7 billion. Brazil, Oman, Bahrain, Sweden, and Canada dominated the market, controlling 95.6% of Egypt's iron ore imports, worth $1.584 billion. Notably, imports from Brazil increased by 24.7% to $749.533 million, while those from Ukraine surged by 805.5% to $51.699 million. Conversely, imports from Oman declined by 37.7% to $356.188 million.
