In August 2024, Ukraine’s scrap metal exports surged, reaching levels comparable to those before the war. The industry saw a significant increase, with exports rising by 15.1% from the previous month to 28.42 thousand tons.

This marks a 79.3% increase compared to August 2023, highlighting a robust recovery in the sector. The State Customs Service reported that this is the highest export volume since December 2021.
